Youth arrested for circulating pirated copies of Marco on social media in Kerala

A youth was taken into custody on Friday, December 27 for allegedly distributing a pirated version of the recently released Malayalam film Marco.

A young man was taken into custody on Friday for allegedly distributing a pirated version of the recently released Malayalam film Marco.

The Kochi Cyber Crime Police apprehended a 21-year-old resident of Aluva for sharing a link to the pirated copy of the film on Instagram, according to authorities.

The arrest came after producer Sherif Mohammed filed a complaint on Thursday, reporting the circulation of a pirated version of the film on social media. In his complaint, Sherif highlighted the potential financial damage caused by the illegal distribution of Marco. He also provided the police with information regarding the social media accounts responsible for sharing the pirated copy of the film.

This incident follows closely on the heels of the Kochi Cyber Police arresting three individuals for allegedly distributing a pirated version of the film ARM, as reported by the authorities.

The action thriller, directed by Haneef Adeni, hit theaters on December 20 and features Unni Mukundan in the lead role.
