Writer and actor Eisha Chopra celebrates a phone-free birthday, says, "I did something I've never done before"

Actress and writer Eisha Chopra, who has penned several projects including the 2024 film Do Aur Do Pyaar, recently celebrated her 32nd birthday on March 16. However, the actress picked a very unique way to celebrate her special day.

Eisha took to her Instagram and revealed that she celebrated a “phone-free birthday”. In a series of slides, Eisha shared, “I did something I've never done before. I went off the grid to give myself a phone-free birthday.”

She further wrote, “I didn't realize what I revolutionary decision this was untill had to respond to a few when people started to get worried that I was lying in a ditch somewhere. This is fair. 6 am was once when I went to bed on a Saturday night. Now, it's around when I wake up.”

She claimed that the social experiment aspect of birthday wishes was mildly intriguing, noting that people's memories of others' special days are often tied to social media notifications and curated online appearances.

She sarcastically remarks that this phenomenon is mistakenly attributed to genuine affection, or "Love." They express annoyance at the clichéd expression "love you to the moon and back," criticizing its lack of originality.

She further revealed that she had spent her last birthday receiving and responding to text messages, phone calls, and resharing the IG stories.

The actress also shared a screenshot of a group message which showed that some of her friends had forgotten her birthday.

However, she asked her friends or followers to relax if they were feeling guilty for forgetting her birthday. She further that if they are still feeling compelled to respond to her post then they can comment about her hair or one or two books for her to read.

The actress concluded her post and noted, “I have never claimed to be above cute, or clever manipulations and then let's never speak about this again.” However, she wrote in the caption, "Not a very belated, but a very Happy Birthday to Me," while adding a butterfly emoji.

For the unversed, Eisha Chopra has starred in films like Out of Love and Neerja. She has also starred in the Amazon Prime series, P.O.W. – Bandi Yuddh Ke.
