After Devara, which did not do well at the box office, Tarak is busy with NTRNeel which is currently underway. Now all of a sudden, there is buzz about Devara 2, the sequel. As per the latest update, fans are excited about a new update from Yuvasudha Arts producer Sudhakar Mikkilineni, who says that the sequel is set to start filming in May 2026.
Sudhakar Mikkilineni spoke at an event in Bathukamma Kunta, Jangaon, and said that the shooting schedule for Devara 2 is being planned for May of this year. The makers hope to release it in theaters in 2027. According to an article published in News18, the project is still in the pre-production stage, with the team finishing up the script and other details before starting to film.
There were rumors earlier that Devara: Part 2 had been put on hold because the lead actor didn't fully believe the revised script. At the time, though, the makers did not officially confirm anything, so the status of the sequel was still up in the air. The most recent announcement ends all the rumors and shows that the big project is back on track.
On the first anniversary of Devara: Part 1, it was officially announced that there would be a sequel. The creators confirmed that Devara 2 was in the works by posting a special message on X (formerly Twitter). The announcement talked about how the movie affected people and told fans to get ready for the next part of the story, which will be directed by Koratala Siva and have music by Anirudh Ravichander.
But on the other side of the reality, Jr NTR is yet to begin full-fledged shooting for NTRNeel. Though the film is slated for June this year, it is beyond impossible for Tarak to begin shooting for Devera 2 in May. The fact is that even NTRNeel will be postponed to later this year or next year.
And the look that Jr NTR currently has, he cannot shoot for any other film till it releases. To shoot Devara 2, he needs to build the body to what he was previously. So this premise on social media about Tarak shooting for Devara 2 is highly impossible.
