  • Udaybir Sandhu shines as Pinda in Dhurandhar: The Revenge
  • He transformed physically for the role, gaining and losing 15 kg
  • His viral line deepens the film’s central emotional conflict

As Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues its strong run in cinemas, one performance quietly winning hearts is that of Udaybir Sandhu.

Playing Gurbaaz Singh, aka Pinda, he brings a raw emotional edge to the story, standing shoulder to shoulder with Ranveer Singh in a role that is both intense and deeply personal.

In the film, Pinda begins as Jaskirat Singh Rangi’s closest childhood friend—someone he trusts without question. But as the story unfolds, that bond slowly fractures, turning into a conflict that drives much of the film’s emotional weight.

Their journey from friendship to rivalry feels real and layered, making their eventual confrontation all the more impactful for viewers.

What really stands out is the effort he put into the role. Udaybir Sandhu underwent a significant physical transformation, gaining and losing 15 kilograms to convincingly portray Pinda at two very different ages.

Speaking about the journey, he shared on Instagram, "Played a 20-year-old boy and a 40-year-old man in the same film… gained & lost 15 kgs to look the part. I pushed my limits beyond what I thought possible. A lot of discipline, blood, sweat, and tears have gone into this. I hope you enjoy watching Pinda on the big screen."

Interestingly, acting wasn’t always the plan for Udaybir Sandhu. He was a national-level hockey player from Punjab before films came calling.

That background helped him land his debut in Gold alongside Akshay Kumar, where he even assisted in training actors for the sport.

From there, he gradually found his footing, appearing in Amar Singh Chamkila by Imtiaz Ali, sharing screen space with Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra. He also featured in Ikk Kudi with Shehnaaz Gill, steadily building a varied body of work.

Off-screen, Udaybir Sandhu has also explored modelling in India and South Africa, but it’s Dhurandhar 2 that’s truly brought him into the spotlight. Audiences, in particular, have connected with his now-viral line, “Ghar ki yaad nahi aayi tujhe Jassi?”, which captures the emotional tension between the characters perfectly.
