The mystery surrounding the character of ‘Bade Sahab’ in Dhurandhar: The Revenge has finally been unveiled, and it’s not a mainstream Bollywood superstar but a seasoned performer, Danish Iqbal, who has taken on the powerful role.
Before the film’s release, there was intense speculation about who would play the mysterious antagonist, with names like Salman Khan and Emraan Hashmi doing the rounds. However, the makers surprised audiences by casting Danish Iqbal, an actor with a strong theatre background and years of experience in performance arts.
In the film, Danish portrays ‘Bade Sahab’, a character reportedly inspired by underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim. His role is central to the narrative and acts as a major driving force behind the film’s twists and high-stakes drama.
Who is Danish Iqbal?
Danish Iqbal is not new to the world of acting. He is a National School of Drama (NSD) alumnus and has spent nearly three decades honing his craft in theatre. Known for his powerful stage presence, he has also worked as a director and acting coach, mentoring aspiring performers along the way.
He gained wider recognition for his role as Dilshad Mirza in the popular web series Maharani Season 2, where his performance was widely appreciated. Apart from this, he has also been associated with projects like Sankalp, showcasing his versatility across mediums.
With Dhurandhar 2, Danish Iqbal is now stepping into the mainstream spotlight. Early reactions suggest that his portrayal of ‘Bade Sahab’ has left a strong impact on audiences, with many calling it one of the film’s biggest highlights.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2 continues the story of Hamza, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi. Ranveer Singh reprises this lead role, while Rakesh Bedi, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt return to their earlier characters. The makers position the project as a direct sequel to the 2025 blockbuster Dhurandhar.
