Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi feud

Indian cricket legends Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh once appeared on Salman Khan’s popular reality show Dus Ka Dum, bringing with them their trademark humour and wit. However, one particular moment from the show stands out, as it cleverly referenced a well-known episode from Bollywood’s history—Salman Khan’s infamous feud with actor Vivek Oberoi. The playful exchange between Salman, Harbhajan, and Yuvraj had the audience in stitches and gave fans a delightful trip down memory lane, revisiting one of the most talked-about controversies in the industry.

The moment kicked off when Salman Khan, as usual, was sharing an amusing filming anecdote. He casually mentioned, “Mai shooting mai bhaag raha tha ek shot that waha pe...” (I was running during shooting, there was a shot there). Harbhajan Singh, known for his sharp wit, immediately jumped in with a cheeky quip: “Kiske peeche? Vivek Oberoi?” (Behind whom? Vivek Oberoi?). The audience burst into laughter at this playful jibe, but it was Salman’s response that truly stole the spotlight.

With a mischievous grin on his face, Salman quipped, “Vivek Oberoi! Chodiye unko. Unki zindagi jeene unko jeene de aaram se nahi toh khamakha choti ho jayegi” (Vivek Oberoi! Leave him. Let him live his life peacefully, or it will become unnecessarily short). The room erupted in laughter, with both Harbhajan and Yuvraj finding the moment especially funny. Salman’s delivery, full of self-deprecating humor, made it clear that the actor was still very much aware of the long-standing media frenzy surrounding the past conflict.

The playful moment was a nod to the highly publicized feud between Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi that had begun in the early 2000s. The origins of this rivalry were rooted in Salman’s tumultuous relationship with actress Aishwarya Rai. After their breakup, Aishwarya began dating Vivek Oberoi, which quickly escalated the tension between the two actors. The situation was further aggravated when Vivek publicly accused Salman of making threatening phone calls to him late at night, creating a media storm that painted Salman in an aggressive light.

This incident, which took place during a press conference that Vivek had called to address the allegations, played a pivotal role in shaping the course of the feud. While Salman’s career continued to soar, the fallout had a far more severe impact on Vivek. Bollywood producers, wary of being associated with such a controversial situation, began distancing themselves from the actor. As a result, Vivek’s career trajectory was significantly affected, with many attributing his decline in the industry to the public spectacle of the feud.
