Bollywood star Raveena Tandon is one of the prominent actresses in the entertainment industry. She has starred opposite A-list actors including Govinda, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and more. However, the actress was once rejected from starring in the film, which also stars Shah Rukh Khan.

In a throwback interview with Filmmare, the actress shared that she rejected the role because she was discomfort with certain scenes and the costumes, which she described as "objectifying”

The actress said, “It was with Shah Rukh Khan, and I had almost signed it until the time came to discuss the costumes. The costumes were really weird. It wasn’t something I would be comfortable wearing. I thought it was a little too objectifying. I said, ‘No, sorry, I can’t.’”

Raveena Tandon revealed in the same interview that she had rejected four films with Shah Rukh Khan because of the uncomfortable costumes and scenes.

The actress turned down Yash Chopra's 1993 film Darr, a psychological thriller that became a defining role for Shah Rukh Khan and cemented Juhi Chawla's status in Bollywood. In the film, SRK stars as an obsessive lover, playing a crucial role. The film also stars Sunny Deol in the lead role.

In an old interview with Mirchi Plus, Raveena confirmed that she rejected the pivotal role in Darr, but she didn’t elaborate on the exact details of the reason for the rejection. She said, “Darr was something that I was offered, but I stepped back.”

Raveena Tandon and Shah Rukh Khan shared screen in multiple films

Raveena Tandon is known for being picky about choosing the film’s script. She might have rejected films for their objectionable scenes, but she went on to share screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in several movies.

Raveena and Shah Rukh Khan have co-starred in Zamaana Deewana (1995) and Jaadu (1989). The actress has previously complimented SRK and called him a “genuinely warm, caring person.” Meanwhile, Shah Rukh has also praised Raveena and called her ‘best-smelling actress’.
