When Life Gives You Tangerines actor Park Bo Gum receives new honour

South Korean actor Park Bo Gum, known for his role in When Life Gives You Tangerines, has recently achieved a new milestone in his career. He has been appointed the 2025 Honorary Ambassador for Korean Tourism. He will represent Korea on the global stage.

The  Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organisation held an official appointment ceremony at SJ Kunsthalle on July 29. During the ceremony, Bo Gum was formally named the new honorary ambassador.

During the event, fans also get a glimpse at two promotional videos starring Park Bo Gum. The first clip features the campaign’s theme song On My Way. The song was specially created for this year’s global Korea tourism campaign.

The song was notably sung by Park Bo Gum himself, and the track enhances the emotional resonance of the video.

Meanwhile, the second video was a fantasy-inspired short film that offers a glimpse into Korea through the eyes of a traveller, showcasing the country’s beauty and diversity.

The Korea Tourism Organisation also launched a global interactive event starting from July 29 to August 12 on its official YouTube channel, Imagine Your Korea, coinciding with the video release.

Bo Gum took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account and expressed his excitement over the honour. He shared a series of photos from the event while holding the bouquet and penned in the tweet, “Never Ending Korea… Imagine your Korea.”

On the work front,  Park Bo Gum was recently seen in When Life Gives You Tangerines alongside IU, which received positive reviews from the audience and broke several Netflix streaming records. His credits also include Moonlight Drawn By Clouds, Wonderland and others.
