Long before Imran Khan stepped into the world of politics and became the Prime Minister of Pakistan, he was already a global heart-throb.

During his cricketing days, Imran Khan wasn’t just admired for his talent on the field but also for his confidence, charm and unmistakable screen presence. Even today, years after his retirement from cricket, that appeal continues to spark conversations and nostalgia.

Imran Khan’s popularity was never limited to Pakistan. Across the border in India, he enjoyed a massive fan following, especially among women who grew up watching international cricket in the 1980s and 1990s.

For many, he represented a rare mix of sporting brilliance and movie-star looks. That sentiment recently resurfaced after an old video of Bollywood actor Bipasha Basu began circulating online.

In the throwback clip, Bipasha Basu speaks candidly about Imran Khan and the effect he had on women during her growing-up years. “Imran Khan’s hot. I remember, you know, like ladies in our house, while we were growing up and watching cricket, from my mom to everyone used to go gaga about Imran Khan and definitely as we were growing up also, we all think unanimously he is extremely good looking and hot,” she said.

Her honest admission instantly resonated with fans who remembered that era and shared similar memories.

The video was recently reposted by Pakistani music streaming platform Patari, which shared the clip on its social media page.

The timing of the post caught attention, especially as it surfaced amid online criticism and blame directed at Pakistan following the Pulwama attack. While the post did not include a political statement, many viewers saw it as a subtle reminder of shared cultural moments and mutual admiration that once existed across borders.

Bipasha Basu is now happily married to Karan Singh Grover, and the couple has a daughter, whom they named Devi.
