SRK talks about Social media reality

Shah Rukh Khan offered his perceptive opinions on the influence of social media and the value of introspection at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025.

In his signature thoughtful style, the Bollywood superstar commented, “Everyone wants to be seen because of social media, but in that rush, they have forgotten to see themselves.” SRK highlighted the paradox of modern society, where people are increasingly obsessed with being visible online, often at the expense of self-awareness.

He noted that in the quest for attention, many overlook the need to reflect on their own lives and inner selves.

SRK’s words carried a deeper message about finding true purpose and balance in an era where instant gratification and validation through likes and followers dominate our lives. According to him, the focus should not merely be on gaining visibility, but rather on focusing on one’s own journey and growth. He encouraged the audience to shift their mindset from seeking external recognition to internal development.

“Instead of wanting to be seen, walk on the path diligently and look at ourselves,” he said, urging everyone to prioritise self-reflection and dedication to their personal and professional paths.

SRK and Deepika Padukone were a part of the session The Journey: From Outsider to Ruler moderated by Karan Johar.

He also talked about a moment from a few years ago when Karan Johar (KJO) brought a script to his house. “A few years back, KJO came to my house with a script and the script required me to wear a skirt throughout the film. That’s when I stepped back from the script for the first time,” SRK revealed.

While talking about women he meets in his life, King Khan mentioned, "I have too much respect for women. I feel genuine love for every woman I meet. I find them gentle, kind and they are connected to nature."

On the work front, SRK is currently working on his upcoming film King with his daughter Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.

Jr. Bachchan is reportedly playing the antagonist in the film.
