At the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, which took place at Mumbai's Jio World Centre, actor Allu Arjun provided a motivational viewpoint on the value of physical fitness in an actor's life, particularly in the rigorous Indian film industry.
The actor, who is well-known for his amazing dancing abilities and on-screen energy, opened up about his personal fitness journey and the reasons behind his early career pushes for physical limits.
“Obviously fitness is a very keen aspect of every actor,” he began, addressing the audience.
“Especially with Indian actors, as we have to dance, we have to fight, and we do not know when the schedule will start. So fitness is extremely important.”
Arjun, who began focusing on physical training in his late teens, added, “I started at the age of 19-20 and over the years we get a lot of experiences and injuries. It is extremely tough but it is worth it when you see yourself on the big screen.”
A pioneer in many ways, Allu Arjun is widely regarded as one of the first South Indian actors to embrace the six-pack trend. At WAVES 2025, he revealed the unexpected motivation behind that choice. “It is about the mindset. 20 years back I knew that it needs only one person to break that,” he explained. “Someone motivated me by saying, ‘I do not think South actors can come up with six packs.’ One of the actresses I worked with said that and then it became like a challenge and I could do it.”
His story struck a chord with aspiring artists in the audience, highlighting the power of determination, discipline, and self-belief. At a summit dedicated to creative excellence, Allu Arjun’s journey stood as a reminder that pushing past conventional limits can often redefine an entire industry.
