The Bengal Files faces issues on overseases release

Due to continuous censorship reviews, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's eagerly awaited movie The Bengal Files has encountered an unforeseen obstacle and had its release delayed in a number of important international markets.

Fans are excitedly awaiting the film's September 5, 2025, release date, but viewers in certain nations will have to wait a bit longer.

The team behind the film recently confirmed that the censor board in Mauritius has yet to give the green light, causing an indefinite delay there. Meanwhile, the movie is also under review in other territories like the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong — all places known for their strict content guidelines, especially when it comes to sensitive political or social themes.

Although no outright objections have been made, the certification process is taking longer than expected, prompting the producers to push back release dates in these regions.

The Bengal Files is written by Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi, featuring a powerhouse cast including Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, and Darshan Kumar. Presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal and I Am Buddha Productions, this film is the third part of Vivek’s ‘Files’ trilogy, following the widely talked-about The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files.

While international fans wait patiently for the film’s clearance, Indian audiences can still look forward to the theatrical release as planned on 5th September.

The delays highlight the difficulties filmmakers encounter when attempting daring, intricate tales in a world with disparate censorship regulations. The team is nevertheless optimistic that The Bengal Files will soon be accessible to viewers worldwide, carrying on the discussion that the trilogy started.
