New information regarding Vikrant Massey's exit from the fast-paced action thriller Don 3, which stars Ranveer Singh in the title role, has surfaced amid the continuous commotion surrounding the film.

It seems that Vikrant himself has left the project, despite previous reports that he was replaced.

With filming set to start in early 2026, the development has put the production team in a bind. Two well-known actors—Vijay Deverakonda and Aditya Roy Kapur—are currently being considered as the search for Vikrant's replacement heats up.

Both actors have demonstrated their abilities in dramatic and action roles, and each would contribute a distinct edge to the part. But as of right now, neither has formally acknowledged their involvement.

A source quoted by Bollywood Hungama said, “There is no doubt that Vikrant would have been phenomenal. We are certain that another actor of his calibre will step up and take this challenge head-on.”

Sources claim that the versatile actor left the movie willingly because he felt his role as a smooth-talking con artist lacked depth and substance.

Earlier, popular paparazzo Sneh Kumar Zala had claimed that Vijay Deverakonda had already joined the project, but this remains unverified by the makers.

Adding to the film's growing intrigue are rumours of special cameos from Bollywood heavyweights. According to a report by India Today, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra are expected to make appearances in Don 3, possibly as a nod to the earlier instalments in the franchise.

A source mentioned to India Today, “The makers are planning to add some drama by including Shah Rukh Khan’s character. Not much is known about the part; however, Farhan Akhtar reportedly reached out to SRK and narrated the character and the story around him. While the superstar is busy with King at the moment, given their close association, he has agreed to do it."

Farhan Akhtar, who returns as director, is reportedly in London deciding on shooting locations that complement the film's scope and aesthetic goals.

With Ranveer taking over SRK's iconic role, fans are eager to see how this reboot will combine tradition and innovation. All eyes are on the story's development and who will eventually join the ensemble cast as the suspense grows.
