In a grand celebration of India’s 79th Independence Day, popular actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna marked their presence at the India Day parade in New York.

A video of their arrival at the Consulate General of India was shared on Friday by film publicist Suresh PRO, quickly gaining traction on social media.

The clip revealed that the rumoured couple entered the venue separately but received a warm welcome, complete with flower bouquets from the organisers.

Vijay kept his look casual yet sharp in brown-green trousers paired with a black shirt and white sneakers, while Rashmika opted for understated elegance in black trousers, a white top, and a cozy cardigan.

The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) has confirmed that Vijay and Rashmika will serve as co-grand marshals for the 43rd annual India Day parade, which will be held along Madison Avenue on August 17. This year’s theme, “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” (May All Be Happy), resonates deeply as a call for peace and healing amid turbulent global times.

The celebrations are set to span multiple days, beginning with a pre-parade weekend from August 15. Highlights include the illumination of the iconic Empire State Building in the tricolour, a flag-hoisting ceremony at Times Square on August 16, and, for the first time in the history of the event, a cricket match. The main parade, starting at 12 pm on August 17, is expected to witness a vibrant display of Indian culture, unity, and pride.

While Vijay and Rashmika continue to fuel speculation about their off-screen relationship with frequent joint appearances, both have remained tight-lipped about their status.

On the professional front, Vijay was last seen in the Telugu spy-thriller Kingdom, while Rashmika recently appeared in Kuberaa. Their participation in the parade only adds to the excitement, making them the perfect representatives of Indian youth and cinema on an international stage.
