Vicky Kaushal recently opened up about his first encounter with his wife, Katrina Kaif in an interview.

For the unversed, now the married couple met for the first time during an award show. He shared that before the event, he and Katrina hadn’t met or interacted, but the actress was very kind and friendly towards him when they did.

Vicky mentioned that he wasn’t particularly nervous about meeting Katrina, but at that time, he certainly didn’t foresee that they would eventually get married. Reflecting on the moment, Vicky revealed how it was a casual interaction, but little did he know that this chance meeting would lead to a life together.

He described their journey from that first meeting to their eventual marriage as something that evolved naturally, with a deep connection forming over time. Vicky also touched upon how their relationship developed, leading to their eventual decision to marry, noting the importance of shared values and mutual respect.

In an Interview with Pinkvilla, the Chhaava actor mentioned, I can’t remember which award function that was, but this is probably Screen." When he was told that the award show was the Zee Awards, he said, “So, I was hosting, and I think this was the first time I ever met her and interacted with her."

Vicky went on to say, "On stage, we have that gear in our ears through which we’re constantly being instructed from behind—like, ‘Do this… do that…’ It keeps guiding you, and everything is scripted. But behind the stage, it was the first time we were formally introduced to each other. Yeah. So that… who knew?"

When asked if he felt nervous about meeting Katrina, Vicky admitted that he didn’t feel nervous and said, "No, No…nahin nervous kya hona?" Director Laxman Utekar interjected, “Chhaava nervous hota hai kya?"

Laxman referenced Vicky Kaushal’s character from his upcoming film, Chhaava.

Vicky Kaushal is all set for the release of his upcoming historical drama, Chhaava, which is scheduled to hit the screens on February 14, 2025. The period film, featuring Rashmika Mandanna, takes a deep dive into the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Vicky will portray the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji, a key figure in the Maratha empire's history. Alongside Vicky, the film also stars prominent actors like Ashutosh Rana and Divya Dutta, who will play pivotal roles in this epic saga.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, renowned for his successful films like Mimi (2021) and Luka Chuppi (2019), Chhaava marks another exciting collaboration between Utekar and Vicky Kaushal, following their recent hit Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023), a comedy-romance that captured audiences' hearts.

This historical drama will see the duo venture into a completely different genre, showcasing Utekar’s versatility as a filmmaker.
