Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna are gearing up for the international release of their much-anticipated film, Chhaava International. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the period drama will premiere simultaneously in both Russia and India on February 14.
This marks an exciting global launch for the film, as it makes its way to international audiences while captivating viewers in the home country. The film's cross-border appeal adds a unique element to its release, creating high expectations among fans worldwide.
Bollywood has a strong and dedicated following in Russia, and Chhaava International is poised to captivate Russian audiences with its upcoming release.
Based on the life of the legendary Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the film has already generated significant buzz following the release of its trailer. With high expectations surrounding its grand visuals and gripping storyline, fans are eagerly awaiting the chance to experience this historical drama on the big screen.
The film's release is set to strengthen Bollywood's presence in Russian theatres, further expanding its global reach.
Meanwhile, the film faced significant backlash after a preview of a song was released, depicting the celebratory atmosphere in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's kingdom following his victorious assault on Burhanpur, a prosperous Mughal city in Madhya Pradesh, in 1681.
In response to the protest, the director announced that he would remove a dance sequence from the film. In a comprehensive official statement, he explained that he envisioned the Maratha warrior and king, Sambhaji Maharaj, as a 20-year-old in the film, which led to the inclusion of a scene depicting him celebrating with the traditional 'Lezim dance' after his victory in battle.
In addition to Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, Chhaava International also stars Akshaye Khanna, who takes on the formidable role of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
The film also boasts an impressive supporting cast, with Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta playing key roles that are expected to add depth and intrigue to the narrative. With such a talented ensemble, Chhaava promises to be an unforgettable historical drama that will captivate audiences with its powerful performances and gripping storyline.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, Chhaava is hitting the screens on February 14.
