Veteran music composer Ilaiyaraaja shares glimpses of his meeting with PM Narendra Modi, talks about his symphony debut

Legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja recently had a memorable meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sharing glimpses of their interaction.

During their conversation, he discussed various topics, including his landmark achievement on March 9, presenting his first-ever symphony, Valiant, in London. He described the meeting as an unforgettable experience and thanked PM Modi for his appreciation and support. With this, he became the first Indian to accomplish such a feat.

Having composed music for over 1,500 films, Ilaiyaraaja rightfully holds the title of the "Maestro of Music." Recognizing his immense contribution to Indian music, the central government has honored him with numerous awards and even appointed him as a member of the Rajya Sabha.

Ilaiyaraaja also met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin in Chennai on March 15. In recognition of his remarkable 50-year journey in the music industry, the Tamil Nadu government has announced plans to honour his contributions.

Recently, Ilaiyaraaja achieved another remarkable milestone by presenting his symphony Valiant in London. At 81, his dedication to music remains unparalleled, earning him immense praise from both the film fraternity and his countless fans.
