Pooja Entertainment, the esteemed production house established by Vashu Bhagnani, went head-to-head with streaming giant Netflix over claims of cheating and outstanding dues amounting to nearly Rs 47.37 crore, in a widely publicized legal showdown in 2024.

After a yearlong legal disputes and negotiations, the matter appears to have been resolved, with Netflix agreeing to settle by paying Rs 20 crore.

According to reports from Bollywood Hungama, Pooja Entertainment and Netflix have finally reached a settlement, with the streaming giant reportedly paying over Rs 20 crore to resolve their financial dispute.

For those unaware, in 2024, Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani had filed a complaint against Netflix with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police.

They alleged that the platform had failed to pay them their dues for the streaming rights of three films—Mission Raniganj, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and Hero No. 1. The legal battle that ensued made headlines, but with this settlement, the dispute has now been put to rest.

Both parties have now decided to turn the page and look forward to a renewed collaboration, hoping for a long and successful association in the future.

During the dispute, Senior Inspector Ravindra Avhad revealed to Hindustan Times that Netflix had been issued two summonses but failed to appear or respond to the official letter sent by authorities. Meanwhile, Netflix dismissed the allegations as “completely unfounded” and countered that it was, in fact, Pooja Entertainment that owed them money.
