Varun Dhawan celebrates Army Day with jawans as he gears up for Border 2

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan, who is gearing up for his role in the upcoming film Border 2, paid tribute to India’s "real heroes" on the occasion of Army Day, observed on Wednesday.

Expressing his admiration and gratitude, Varun acknowledged the sacrifices and unwavering dedication of the armed forces in protecting the nation. As part of his preparation for the film, which highlights the valor of Indian soldiers, Varun has been immersing himself in the history and spirit of the armed forces, making this tribute even more heartfelt.

Varun Dhawan took to Instagram to share two pictures of himself with the jawans. In one of the images, the actor was seen striking a pose alongside the soldiers next to a tank, capturing a moment of camaraderie and respect.

Varun Dhawan was last seen in the much-anticipated film Baby John, which, unfortunately, did not perform well at the box office and failed to resonate with audiences.

Border 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, with Gulshan Kumar and T-Series presenting the film in collaboration with JP Dutta's JP Films. Directed by Anurag Singh, the sequel aims to continue the legacy of the iconic 1997 film Border, which captured the bravery and sacrifices of Indian soldiers during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war.

The announcement for Border 2 was made on June 13, 2024, commemorating 27 years since the release of the original Border. The highly anticipated sequel is set to hit theaters on January 23, 2026.

For the unversed, Army Day is observed annually in India on January 15 to honor the historic moment when Lieutenant General Kodandera M Cariappa, who later became a Field Marshal, took over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. He assumed the position from General Francis Roy Bucher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on January 15, 1949.

Army Day is celebrated with grandeur through parades and various military displays in the national capital, as well as at all military headquarters across the country. These events honor the valor and dedication of the Indian Army.
