Usha Uthup’s husband Jani Chacko Uthup dies off massive cardiac arrest in Kolkata

Legendary singer and Padma Bhushan Usha Uthup's second husband, Jani Chacko Uthup passed away at their home in Kolkata.

The 78 year-old died of a massive cardiac arrest on July 8. According to PTI, Jani Chacko complained of discomfort while watching TV at their residence and was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead.

Jani, the second husband of Usha, was associated with the tea plantation sector. They first met at the iconic Trincas in the early '70s.

Besides Usha, was survived by a son and a daughter.

The last rites will be held on Tuesday, the family said.

Usha Uthup is known for lending her voice to many hit songs in different languages. She is known at the pop icon of India. Her song Ramba Ho is a major hit and still played across generations. (With PTI inputs)
