Two Priest organizations approach Police over Urvashi Rautela’s controversial temple claim

Urvashi Rautela recently stirred controversy by claiming a temple in Badrinath is named after her. In response, two priest organizations have approached Dehradun police seeking action against her.

In a widely shared video, Urvashi Rautela claimed that the Urvashi temple was named after her and suggested building a temple in her honour in South India.

Urvashi Rautela has been in the headlines recently after she made a claim that there is a temple named after her in Badrinath. Now as per latest development, two priest organizations, have approached police in Dehradun demanding action against have approached police in Dehradun demanding action against her.

In separate memorandums delivered to DGP Deepam Seth at police headquarters, the Uttarakhand Char Dham Teerth Purohit Mahapanchayat and the Brahma Kapal Teerth Purohit Panchayat Samiti claimed that her comments had offended religious sentiments and provoked outrage among pilgrimage priests and local communities.

In a widely shared video, Urvashi Rautela claimed that the Urvashi temple was named after her and suggested building a temple in her honour in South India. The organisations accused her of spreading "false claims."

The memorandum stated that Urvashi Rautela had made a misleading remark regarding the Urvashi temple near the Badrinath temple, claiming it was named after her and suggesting a similar temple be established in South India. , as reported by Times of India.

According to the memorandum, her statement had offended the sentiments of devotees of Sanatan Dharma and Maa Urvashi Devi, leading to significant anger among locals and pilgrimage priests. The signatories urged authorities to take immediate action against both Rautela and the platform where the video was shared.

Earlier today, Urvashi Rautela's team had also issued a statement on social media clarifying Urvashi's claims. The statement read, "Urvashi Rautela said that there is a temple in her name in Uttarakhand, not 'Urvashi Rautela’s temple'. Now, people don’t even listen properly; just hearing ‘Urvashi’ or ‘temple’, they assume that people worship Urvashi Rautela. Please listen to the video carefully and then speak. Urvashi said, yes, at Delhi University, she was referred to as ‘Damdami Mai’, and there’s a news article supporting this. Legal action should be taken against those who have made misleading remarks about Urvashi Rautela’s statement."

On the work front, Urvashi was last seen in Daaku Maharaj, alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna.
