Star Plus' much loved series Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has achieved a milestone that only a handful of Indian TV shows can boast – 5000 successful episodes, finished today, December 3.
Created by Rajan Shahi under Director's Kut Productions, the series has consistently evolved across various generations and new narratives, captivating viewers for over ten years.
From the initial days with Karan Mehra and Hina Khan portraying Naitik and Akshara to the acclaimed period featuring Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi as Kartik and Naira, every phase of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has established its own legacy.
Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod subsequently took on the roles of Abhimanyu and Akshara, gaining substantial fan backing. At present, Rohit Purohit and Samridhii Shukla maintain the roles of Armaan and Abhira in the fourth-generation storyline.
Although the milestone deserves celebration, the recently launched 5000-episode special montage has sparked an unforeseen controversy.
Fans were shocked to notice that only Pranali Rathod was highlighted, while Harshad Chopda was entirely absent from the tribute. His absence has stunned audiences, particularly as his portrayal of Abhimanyu stands as one of the most significant phases in the series' history.
Although Harshad, the channel and production house, has not provided any clarity on the matter, a source told Filmibeat, "Fans can anticipate his appearance, but Harshad has always been careful about what he decides to connect with. Unfortunately, he will not be able to join the special celebration, which could explain his absence from the montage. He holds deep affection for the show and treasures the love he gained while portraying Abhimanyu.”
Another source mentioned that Hina Khan will also not participate in the YRKKH celebration.
