Rohit Shetty Gives Amaal Mallik and Shehbaz Badesha a Reality Check on Bigg Boss 19
With the grand finale of Bigg Boss 19 just around the corner, tensions in the house have hit new heights.
This weekend’s Weekend Ka Vaar saw filmmaker Rohit Shetty step in as host, filling in for Salman Khan, who was away on work commitments.
Known for his no-nonsense attitude, Rohit brought his trademark energy and candour to the show — and the contestants certainly weren’t spared.
Several housemates received a much-needed dose of honesty, with Amaal Mallik and Shehbaz Badesha finding themselves in the firing line.
The drama began earlier in the week when Gaurav Khanna was announced as the new captain after a live voting task.
The final contenders, Gaurav and Shehbaz, were asked to make a crucial choice — Gaurav could either take captaincy for himself and nominate the entire house, or let Shehbaz take the role and win everyone a full ration supply. Gaurav chose captaincy, sparking chaos among the contestants.
A furious Amaal and Shehbaz accused Bigg Boss and the makers of being biased. Shehbaz swore on his sister that he would leave the show, while Amaal lashed out, threatening to walk out too. In an unexpected twist, Bigg Boss offered the housemates a chance to re-vote — and this time, Shehbaz emerged as the new captain.
Taking charge of the weekend episode, Rohit didn’t mince words. Turning to Amaal, he said, “Amaal, it’s funny how people outside are saying that the show makers are biased towards you, and you have accused Bigg Boss and the makers of being unfair and biased towards Gaurav.”
Amaal admitted he had spoken out of anger: “Salman sir has scolded me every week, so I don’t think anyone has been biased towards me on the show. I am at fault for calling the show biased; it was in the heat of the moment.”
Rohit then addressed both Amaal and Shehbaz directly, questioning their attitudes. “You haven’t done any superhit song, still your followers have increased because of this show. Yet every time you say throw me out, that’s wrong... You’d better improve your language, control it,” he said firmly.
