Mahhi Vij shares cryptic post amid divorce reports with Jay Bhanushali: “may we have the money to buy..."

Mahhi Vij has stirred fresh speculation about her marriage to Jay Bhanushali. The actress shared a social-media post reading: “May we always have the money to buy the things that we screenshot.” That cryptic line comes amid reports the couple have finalised their divorce.

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij filed for divorce a few months ago and the papers were “signed and finalised” between July and August 2025. The report adds that custody arrangements for their children have already been settled.

A source told the publication: “Much was tried, but nothing changed. Separation happened a long time ago. They filed for divorce a couple of months back. The papers have been signed and finalised in July-August, and the custody of the kids has also been decided upon.”

The couple tied the knot in 2011 and are parents to daughter Tara (born 2019) and foster children Rajveer and Khushi (adopted in 2017). Trouble reportedly began because of Mahhi’s “trust issues” with Jay. Once frequent together in vlogs and family posts, they stopped appearing as a pair online, and their last collaborative video was shared in June 2024. Their last public appearance together was in August (for Tara’s birthday celebration). Reports go on that Jay recently took a trip with his daughters while Mahhi moved into a new home with the children two weeks ago.

Mahhi’s response to the divorce rumours has been pointed. In July she told Hauterrfly: “Even if it is the case, why should I tell you? Are you my uncle? Will you pay my lawyer’s fee?” She added: “They just want to blame someone.

Do you even know the truth? What do you know?” On single mothers and divorce, she commented: “Here, people look at single mothers and divorces very differently. They assume there’s going to be drama now that it’ll turn into a big issue. Just live and let live.”

What this reveals is twofold. One: even in high-profile relationships, the private cracks build up long before public confession. Two: without official statements from either party, the arena of speculation takes over. What remains clear is that Mahhi’s “money to buy the things that we screenshot” line feels symbolic — perhaps a nod to maintaining appearances or keeping pace with expectations in a social-media world where screenshots become currency.

There is no confirmed statement yet from Jay or Mahhi about the divorce. Fans and media outlets remain alert. Whether the post is a wink, a wave of resignation, or something else entirely, it opens a deeper conversation about relationships in the public eye, money, image and separation.
