Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahi features Manjeet Makkar as Krishna and Divya Patil as Khushi in the titular roles. Other cast members include Sagar Saini, Kishori Shahane, Sonia Singh, Maira Dharti Mehra, and Naina Gupta.
The story follows Khushi, a kind and responsible woman, and Krishna, a conman, whose lives intersect through a wrong number. They enter a contract marriage to escape trouble and financial hardship, leading to a journey filled with suspense, misunderstandings, and the gradual development of love.
Moneycontrol engaged in an exclusive conversation with Manjeet to know his experience shooting for the show, among other interesting details.
Shedding light on the X factor of his character, Manjeet shared, “Krishna gets to play a lot of different characters — like one day he’s a doctor, another day he’s a policeman, and sometimes even a 70-year-old man. Usually, when you play a lead character in a show, you stick to that one role — which I’ve also done before. But here, it’s different. I got lucky that I get to do so many different things. It’s so cool to play a character who appears in different avatars every few days. As an actor, it’s a great opportunity.”
Speaking about bonding with the team, Manjeet mentioned, “The team is great, and it’s all very collaborative—we discuss everything together. I also believe I’m a good listener (laughs). Everyone on set is professional and experienced, so by collaborating and sharing opinions, we end up bringing out the best in each other. We give our inputs, take others’ inputs, and the work happens in a fun and easygoing way. I believe that when the bond between everyone is good, the final product also turns out well.”

It’s a big production company that has created many successful shows, so I feel lucky to have gotten this opportunity. Great minds are running this company, and being a part of it is a great step forward for my growth,” he added.
In the past, Manjeet has been a part of projects like Nayan Jo Vekhe Unvekha on Zed Punjabi, Parineetii and web series like Ultimate Khiladi, Doorstep Billionaire and Ek Pregnancy Dil Ke Gayi on Kuku FM.
