In an unexpected yet heartwarming crossover, billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates has appeared in a new promo for Star Plus’ iconic daily soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The clip, now going viral, shows Gates greeting Smriti Irani’s beloved character Tulsi with a polite “Namaste Tulsi ji, Jai Shri Krishna,” marking what might be the most surprising cultural moment of the year.
The promo opens with Tulsi (Smriti Irani) on a video call, her laptop screen revealing none other than Bill Gates. Smriti greets him with her trademark warmth: “Jai Shri Krishna.” Gates responds in kind, smiling and saying, “Namaste Tulsi ji, Jai Shri Krishna.” The short but delightful interaction instantly set social media abuzz, with fans calling it “the crossover we never expected.”
Tulsi then tells him, “Bahut acha laga yeh jaanke ki aap seedh America se seedh mere parivaar se jud rahe hai. Aap ka hum sab besabhri se inteezaar kar rahe hai.” (It feels wonderful to know that you are connecting directly with my family all the way from America. We’re all eagerly waiting for you.) Gates replies simply, “Thank you Tulsi ji,” smiling in his signature calm demeanor.
The post was shared by Star Plus with the caption:
“Iss baar #KyunkiSaasBhiKabhiBahuThi ki kahaani ke beech, ek naya rishta jud raha hai — sehat ka, samvedna ka, aur badlaav ka. Aur iss kahani mein jude hain duniya ke sabse bade changemaker — Bill Gates, ek soch ke saath: har maa aur har bachcha rahe surakshit aur swasth.”
(“This time, a new relationship is forming within the story — one of health, empathy, and change. Joining this journey is the world’s greatest changemaker, Bill Gates, with the thought that every mother and child should live safe and healthy lives.”)
The collaboration appears to highlight a health and social awareness campaign under the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi umbrella, merging entertainment with real-world impact. The caption further adds, “Do alag duniyaan, ek hi maqsad ke saath — maa aur bachche ki sehat, har ghar tak pahunchani hai,” emphasizing maternal and child health.
