Shubhangi has now declared that she has filmed her last episode for Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai, calling the experience profoundly emotional after nearly ten years with the show.

Shubhangi Atre, the beloved Angoori Bhabhi, has confirmed her departure from the long-running sitcom Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai, putting to rest the recent speculations that started a few days prior. The reports indicated that the producers had contacted Shilpa Shinde to reprise her role as Angoori Bhabhi.

Shubhangi has now declared that she has filmed her last episode for Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai, calling the experience profoundly emotional after nearly ten years with the show. The actress took on the character of Angoori Bhabhi in 2016, soon after Shilpa Shinde's sudden exit.

In an interview with Bombay Times, Shubhangi said that she leaves from the show with great appreciation.

She expressed that the experience felt like being at home, and parting was much harder than she anticipated. She considers her departure a hidden blessing, providing her the opportunity to venture into new roles and characters beyond the enduring sitcom. While she didn’t disclose the specific reason for her choice, she extended her best wishes to Shilpa on returning to the role.

In confirming her departure, Shubhangi Atre stated to the portal, "I consistently assured Mrs. Kohli that my journey on the show would begin with aan, baan, aur shaan, and that’s precisely how it will conclude as well. I couldn't have requested a more perfect departure.”

In discussing the replacement game with Shilpa, Shubhagi remarked, "I had informed my mum previously that Shilpa departed from the show, making it seem as if she had given me a newborn baby. I cared for that child for ten years, and now I am giving it back to her. I instilled values and principles in it, and I am returning it warmly. I send my best wishes to Shilpa and the whole team for the 2.0 edition of the show. She is an exceptional actress, and I truly admire her.”

Shilpa's depiction of Angoori Bhabhi turned her into a household favourite, yet her abrupt departure in March 2016 ignited significant controversy. At that time, the actress alleged that the producers inflicted "mental torture", asserting that she was coerced into signing an exclusivity agreement and barred from participating in other projects. She claimed there were outstanding payments and unequal treatment on set.

The scenario intensified when the production company sent a legal notice to Shilpa, claiming she violated the contract and acted unprofessionally. With Shilpa allegedly making a comeback after almost a decade and Shubhangi leaving, the show is poised for a significant transformation – one that fans are monitoring intently.
