It has been announced that Triptii Dimri has taken over as the leading lady in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's eagerly awaited action movie Spirit, which stars Prabhas, after Deepika Padukone's confirmed exit and now her fees for the film has also been announced.
Triptii Dimri officially announced her involvement with Spirit on May 24. Sharing her excitement on social media, she posted an image of the film’s title in multiple Indian and international languages and wrote, “Still sinking in… So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you @sandeepreddy.vanga… Honoured to be a part of your vision."
This marks her second collaboration with Vanga, having previously appeared in his hit film Animal.
According to a Telugu 360 report, Triptii is receiving about Rs 4 crore for the role, which is significantly less than Deepika's previously estimated Rs 20 crore fee.
At first, there were rumours that Deepika was getting the largest pay cheque of her career for this project, which would have exceeded even the amount her husband, actor Ranveer Singh, has reportedly demanded for recent movies.
Her high salary, short hours, and a planned profit-sharing arrangement with director Vanga, however, reportedly caused conflict.
Reportedly, “her demands, including eight-hour workdays, a high salary, and a share in the film’s profits, did not sit well with director Vanga.” Deepika, who recently welcomed her first child, is said to be adjusting her work commitments to balance her professional and personal responsibilities. These factors are believed to have influenced her exit from the film, which was poised to be her second collaboration with Prabhas after Kalki 2898 AD.
Spirit is currently in the last stages of scripting and is expected to start production in October 2025. The director has spent more than six months polishing the script to create a high-concept, action-packed drama, according to Pinkvilla.
According to reports, Prabhas is undergoing a significant physical change for the part, with Vanga telling him to have a slimmer build in order to play a police officer.
The movie, which is being produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, is anticipated to hit theatres in 2027.
