Tovino Thomas and Nazriya Nazim to star in Muhsin Parari’s upcoming Malayalam film

Malayalam actors Tovino Thomas and Nazriya Nazim are all set to star together in an upcoming film from filmmaker Muhsin Parari.

The director has recently taken to his Instagram and shared a casting call for actors for the upcoming film. He penned in the caption, “Looking for actors for an upcoming Malayalam film starring Nazriya Nazim & Tovino Thomas, directed by Muhsin Parari.”

The casting call posters revealed that the auditions have been opened for multiple roles. The makers are looking for a female of around 38 to 60 years and a male aged 45 to 60 years, who are preferably proficient in Malappuram/Kozhikode slang. The contestants have to share three unedited photos and a 1-minute performance video.

The makers are also looking for twin boys aged 1 to 8 and 13 to 15 years old.

The yet-untitled project will be written by Parari in collaboration with Zakariya. Directed by filmmaker Muhsin, who is known for writing films such as Virus and Thallumaala, which also starred Thomas.

Meanwhile, the upcoming untitled film is currently in pre-production. In the changing landscape of Malayalam cinema, the pairing of Zakariya's grounded, humanistic style and Parari's socially conscious storytelling is viewed as a promising partnership.

According to The Hollywood Reporter India, the industry observers are curious to see how the movie positions its two leads. Tovino's versatility in action, drama, and romance, and Nazriya's dynamic on-screen persona are creating a buzz. The title and other cast members will be revealed in a formal announcement shortly.

Meanwhile, Nazariya last starred in the Malayalam film Sookshmadarshini in 2024, which also featured Basil Joseph. She is also gearing up to star in the upcoming show, The Madras Mystery – Fall of a Superstar.

Meanwhile, Tovino Thomas starred in films Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan and Narivetta. His most recent credit includes a cameo in Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, which is riding on the success at the box office.
