Actor Tom Welling, famous for his role as Superman, was reportedly arrested this past weekend in Northern California on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.
As per USA Today, Welling was taken into custody by a Yreka Police officer just after midnight on Sunday and was later booked into the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office around 2 am Authorities revealed that Welling's blood alcohol content was found to be at least 0.08 percent.
Tom was arrested in an Arby's parking lot in Yreka, California, shortly after midnight on Monday. The 47-year-old actor was released several hours later, around 7 a.m., with plans for a court appearance. His arraignment is set for the afternoon of March 11.
The unexpected DUI incident came shortly after Tom Welling shared a post on Instagram celebrating his wife, Jessica Rose Lee's birthday. He took to Instagram
and shared a sweet birthday wish for Jessica. He wrote, “Happy Birthday to our Angel who makes our dreams come true and inspires us even more! We love you to the moon and back! @jessicarosewelling #happybirthday #love.”

Welling is best known for playing Clark Kent, or Superman, in the CW series Smallville for 10 seasons. He also hosts the re-watch podcast Talk Ville alongside co-star Michael Rosenbaum, who portrayed Lex Luthor. Additionally, Welling took on the role of police lieutenant Marcus Pierce in the web series Lucifer. In addition to his notable roles in Smallville and Lucifer, Welling has appeared in several other TV series, including Professionals, Batwoman, and Judging Amy. His film credits include Draft Day, Parkland, Cheaper by the Dozen, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, and The Fog.
