Tollywood producer KP Chowdary dies by suicide

Renowned Tollywood producer Sunkara Krishna Prasad Chowdary, widely known as KP Chowdary, tragically died by suicide in Goa on Monday.

Chowdary’s life took a downturn in 2023 when he was arrested by the Cyberabad Special Operations Team in a high-profile drugs case. Investigations revealed his alleged connections with clients from both Tollywood and Kollywood, as well as influential business circles.

He was best known for bringing the Tamil blockbuster Kabali to Telugu audiences.

Reports indicate that financial distress and relentless pressure from lenders played a significant role in his decision. After facing repeated setbacks in the film industry, he reportedly became involved in drug procurement and distribution.

Additionally, he had opened OHM pub in Goa, where he was allegedly supplying drugs to celebrities.
