TMKOC's former 'Tapu' aka Bhavya Gandhi to debut in Bollywood with Kesari Veer starring Suniel Shetty and Vivek Oberoi

Bhavya Gandhi, best known for playing Tapu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, is set to make his Bollywood debut with Kesari Veer. The 27-year-old actor, who has made a name for himself in Gujarati cinema, will now step into Hindi films alongside Suniel Shetty and Vivek Oberoi.

Bhavya Gandhi better known as Tapu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is making his Bollywood debut with Kesari Veer, starring Suniel Shetty and Vivek Oberoi.

The 27-years-old actor, who is prominent in Gujarati films, is set for his Hindi film debut. Announcing the news on Instagram, Bhavya shared the teaser of the film along with the caption, "My next! #KesariVeer - Dharam, Aastha aur Somnath ki Pavitra Bhoomi ki Raksha ka sangram. #HarHarMahadev. #KesariVeerTeaser Out Now! #LegendsOfSomnath #UnsungWarriors Releasing Worldwide in Cinemas on 14th March, 2025."

In an interview with ETimes, Bhavya had previously discussed his role in the film, revealing that it is a period drama featuring Vivek Oberoi and Suniel Shetty. He shared that the story revolves around Himirji Gohil, a character portrayed by Suraj Pancholi, while he himself plays Lakha, Himirji's friend.

"I will be sharing space with Vivek Oberoi and Suniel Shetty sir, I am absolutely excited for the film to release and show people a different side of my craft. I can't wait to see people enjoy it and I hope they do watch it and I hope my character lives in the film," he further said while talking to ETimes.

The upcoming film, based on a real-life story, is set for release on March 14, 2025. Directed by Prince Dhiman and produced by Kanu Chauhan, the historical drama explores the valiant sacrifice of fearless warriors who defended Gujarat’s sacred Somnath Temple in the 14th century AD.

Sooraj Pancholi takes on the role of the courageous warrior Veer Hamirji Gohil, bringing his heroic tale to life on screen. Vivek Oberoi portrays the chief soldier of the Tughlaq dynasty, leading an invasion to plunder the temple and enforce religious conversions. Suniel Shetty plays a significant role as an ally who stands by Veer Hamirji Gohil in the battle to protect the revered shrine.

Bhavya, widely known for portraying ‘Tapu’ in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for several years, later transitioned to Gujarati cinema. He was last seen in Ajab Raat Ni Gajab Vaat and now takes on an important role in this historical epic.
