Tiger Shroff and Janhvi Kapoor to star in Raj Mehta’s Lag Jaa Gale produced by Karan Johar: Report 

Lag Jaa Gale to release next year starring Janhvi Kapoor and Tiger Shroff

Janhvi Kapoor is now collaborating with action star Tiger Shroff on an intriguing new project under the auspices of Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, following the excitement generated by her performance in Homebound.

Officially titled Lag Jaa Gale, the film will be directed by Raj Mehta, who has worked with Johar on three previous projects, including the popular films Jug Jugg Jeeyo and Good Newwz.

As per an exclusive report by Pinkvilla, the project has taken a major step forward, with Mehta having locked the final script. Fans are already looking forward to this new Janhvi and Tiger collaboration because both actors will play parts that promise to showcase their unique talents while experimenting with a different on-screen dynamic.

As per Pinkvilla, in order to give viewers a combination of emotional depth and commercial appeal, Lag Jaa Gale is anticipated to combine romance, drama, and action.

According to industry insiders, the film will have a compelling plot and fashionable visuals that are in line with Mehta's storytelling style, even though specifics regarding the plot are still unknown. With a 2026 release date in mind, production is expected to start in the second half of the year.

A source close to the development revealed, “Raj Mehta’s next is a revenge action love story to be led by Tiger Shroff and Janhvi Kapoor. It’s a script he has been working on for a while, and wanted to have a first-time pairing on board. He narrated it to Tiger and Janhvi, and both the talents instantly agreed to come on board the film.”

The film, which promises a mix of intense action and deep emotional undertones, has been given the title Lag Jaa Gale. “The team was contemplating on several titles, and felt that Lag Jaa Gale is the apt one for the story. It’s a pure revenge actioner with a strong love-story in the backdrop,” the source added.

Lag Jaa Gale is expected to begin filming towards the latter part of 2025. The production schedule is tentatively planned to commence in October, once Tiger Shroff completes promotions for Baaghi 4, and Janhvi Kapoor wraps up the marketing campaign for Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsikumari.

With its large-scale action sequences and emotional core, the film is being crafted specifically for a big-screen experience. “It’s a big screen actioner, and the makers are planning to shoot for some path-breaking sequences in action ft. Tiger Shroff,” the source concluded.

Karan Johar, who still supports a number of projects under his Dharma Productions banner, was recently seen at the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Homebound, which was directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and starred Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khattar, and Vishal Jethwa. Additionally, Johar has two big releases scheduled for 2025: Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsikumari and Dhadak 2.

Lag Jaa Gale, directed by Raj Mehta, is presently scheduled for release in theatres in the second half of 2026. The film is already creating a lot of buzz in the industry thanks to its gripping plot, intense action setting, and novel romantic couple.
