Mani Ratnam directorial and Kamal Haasan starrer Thug Life released in the theatres on Thursday after facing a ban in Karnataka following the actor’s language remark. The film received a lukewarm response from the audience and received a modest collection at the box office on its third day.
According to Sacnilk, Thug Life grossed around Rs 7.50 crore net in India on its third day for all languages. The total collection now stands at Rs 30.15 crore net in India. The film notably performed low on its first two days at the box office and collected an estimated Rs 22.65 crore net.
The latest action drama registered an overall 39.12% Tamil, 14.07% Telugu and 8.92% Hindi occupancy on its first Saturday.
Thug Life’s box office collection seems to hold steady after the massive dip the film registered on Friday.
Kamal Haasan’s film collected Rs 15.5 crore on its opening day and Rs 7.15 crore on Friday. The film notably witnessed a drastic 53.87% dip on Friday.
Despite decent numbers, Thug Life has struggled at the box office delayed release in Karnataka amid a language controversy. Additionally, the film faced stiff competition after the release of Housefull 5 on Friday, which seems to have impacted its Hindi box office collections.

Kamal Haasan portrays Shaktivel, aka Shakti and Silambarasan, his adopted son, Amar, in Thug Life. The film also stars Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Ali Fazal, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles.
The film revolves around the gang leader Sakthivel, who adopts Amaran after a gang war, but years later, a survivor from an assassination sparks doubt. Things take a dramatic turn when Sakthivel suspects Amaran, igniting a conflict of loyalty and revenge.
