Sai Pallavi is gearing up for epic saga Ramayana

Sai Pallavi, known for her grace, grounded nature, and strong principles, continues to earn admiration for more than just her on-screen performances. The actress, celebrated for her no-makeup look and preference for traditional attire like sarees, reportedly gave up her remuneration for the 2018 Telugu film Padi Padi Leche Manasu after it failed at the box office.

Despite receiving her signing amount, Sai Pallavi refused to take the remaining Rs 40 lakhs of her agreed salary, following the film's disappointing box office collection of just Rs 8 crores. Her decision, as reported by Onmanorama, earned her widespread respect within the film industry, especially at a time when some actors are known to make financial demands regardless of a film’s outcome.

Directed by Sita Ramam fame Hanu Raghavapudi and co-starring Sharwanand, Padi Padi Leche Manasu was a romantic tragedy with music by Vishal Chandrasekhar. Though the film didn't perform commercially, its soundtrack was appreciated by the audience. Sai Pallavi’s choice to support the team during the crisis stood out in an industry often criticised for its transactional nature.

Her ethical approach and professionalism earned her the unofficial title of “Lady Powerstar.” At a time when many seek to maximise their earnings, Sai Pallavi’s empathetic gesture set her apart as a rare talent with integrity.

Last seen in the critically acclaimed Amaran opposite Sivakarthikeyan, where she portrayed Indu Rebecca Verghese, Pallavi continues to make powerful choices in her career. She will next be seen in Thandel alongside Naga Chaitanya, releasing in February 2025, and in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited Ramayana with Ranbir Kapoor and Yash. Reportedly, she has allocated a full year to the project and is receiving a substantial paycheque.
