The latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show which premiered on Netflix on Saturday, featured the stunning cast of the last film Mirai including Shriya Saran, Teja Sajja, Jagapathi Babu, and Ritika Nayak.
Shriya Saran shared a funny anecdote about how she met her husband Andrei Koscheev after accidentally missing a flight to the Maldives.
Speaking of their first meeting, Shriya revealed that she met Andrei unexpectedly after she booked the wrong flight for her trip and eventually met him in the Maldives. “I had booked the wrong flight in the wrong month and ended up alone on a cruise to the South of the Maldives, and that’s where I met Andrei,” she said.
She also mentioned that although they knew nothing about each other at the time, they connected through new experiences during the trip. She recalled how the first film of hers he had watched was Drishyam, adding humorously that it had left him scared, which drew laughter from the audience.
Andrei and Shriya dated for a while before getting married in 2018 in a private ceremony at her home in Lokhandwala. The couple later welcomed their daughter Radha in 2021.
The episode was full of humorous moments that kept the audience entertained, such as Teja calling Jagapathi Babu a "romantic at heart" in jest and the cast imitating Rajinikanth's iconic dance moves.
In the episode, Kapil lauded Teja for the massive success of his recent film Hanu-Man, which went on to break multiple records. He further mentioned that fans have now affectionately started calling him “Superhero Teja Sajja.” replying to this, Kapil also poked fun at Teja’s early start in the industry, joking that he is the only pan-India star whose PAN card was made when he was just two and a half years old.
Teja then amused the crowd with a funny story about himself and Rana Daggubati. He disclosed that the two of them decided to launch their own show, roasting everyone in the same manner as Kapil, because they were so impressed by his distinct hosting style. Even though Kapil executed the format with ease, he joked that they were ultimately embroiled in controversy. The audience and Kapil both burst out laughing at this clever admission.
