Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s much-anticipated film, Thandel, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, is all set to make its OTT debut. The film, which grossed over Rs 100 crore worldwide, is still performing well at the box office, reflecting the high expectations surrounding it.
Thandel is a romantic action thriller that hit theatres on February 7, drawing a lot of attention. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film has managed to maintain strong momentum at the box office. The gripping storyline and the performances of its lead actors have kept audiences engaged, making it one of the most talked-about films in recent weeks.
As per an India Today report, Thandel will stream on Netflix in March. While an official release date has not yet been confirmed by the streaming platform, industry sources suggest that the film will be available in the second week of March, most likely around March 7 or March 14.
The plot of Thandel is based on a real-life incident from 2018, in which a fisherman from Srikakulam was captured by Pakistani forces while in international waters. The film explores the emotional and intense journey of the fisherman and the challenges he faces.
Produced by Geetha Arts, the movie features music by Devi Sri Prasad, with cinematography by Shamdat Sainudeen and editing by Naveen Nooli. Alongside Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, the film boasts an ensemble cast that includes Prakash Belawadi, Aadukalam Naren, Divya Pillai, Karunakaran, and Babloo Prithiveeraj.
With its compelling narrative and stellar performances, Thandel is expected to draw a strong viewership when it finally premieres on Netflix, offering a new avenue for audiences who missed it in theatres to experience the film. An official announcement regarding the streaming date is expected soon.
