Maddock Films is now extending its supernatural cinematic universe with a brand-new installment called Thama, following the huge success of Stree and its popular sequel Stree 2.

This upcoming movie is being released as the first romantic story in the franchise, deftly fusing love, supernatural elements, and dark humour, in contrast to the previous attempts, which mainly relied on horror-comedy.

The makers unveiled the teaser of Thama today through Maddock Films’ official YouTube channel, creating an immediate buzz among audiences. The teaser opens in a haunting forest setting, where Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna are seen together. A voice asks, “Raha paogi mere bina? 100 saal tak (Can you live without me for 100 years?)" to which the reply comes, “100 saal to kya, ek pal ke liye bhi nahin (Not even for a moment)"

The conversation offers a novel take on the Maddock horror-comedy formula and establishes the tone for a love tale that transcends time, death, and the paranormal.

A brief preview of Malaika Arora performing a glitzy dance number in the teaser adds to the mystery and raises the possibility that the movie will also feature the franchise's trademark mix of mass appeal and entertainment.

The characters whose love story seems to be at the core of Thama are Rashmika Mandanna as Tadaka and Ayushmann Khurrana as Alok. In addition, the movie stars two outstanding actors in key parts: Paresh Rawal as Ram Bajaj Goyal, who are supposed to add both humour and seriousness to the narrative, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Yakshasan, a shadowy and dangerous figure.
