Tere Ishk Mein has turned into one of the surprise success stories of the year, riding on strong word-of-mouth and powerful performances from Dhanush and Kriti Sanon. Released on November 28, the intense romantic drama opened well and continued its upward trajectory over the weekend, ultimately crossing the Rs 60 crore mark domestically by Monday.

The film started its theatrical journey with an impressive 16 crore opening day collection, a number that caught trade analysts off guard.

With Hindi romantic dramas showing mixed results through the year, Tere Ishk Mein’s strong start signaled that the genre still has a loyal audience when backed by genuine emotion and engaging storytelling. The film’s day one figure also positioned it as the second-highest opening love story of 2025, behind Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara, which earned around 20–21 crore.

On Saturday, the film added Rs 17 crore, showing only a marginal jump. Most multiplex chains contributed moderate growth, while mass belts continued to offer momentum. Sunday brought a much-needed boost, with collections rising to 19 crore.

Rajasthan, Bihar, and Gujarat reported spikes of over 30 percent in several centres, helping the film close the weekend on a strong note.

The Tamil version, despite featuring a major regional star like Dhanush, showed considerably lower numbers. Trade trackers pointed out that the Tamil release wasn’t rolled out aggressively in the South, limiting its potential reach. Even with this drawback, the Hindi version remained dominant across markets.

As expected, Monday saw a drop. Early estimates pegged the day-four collection at Rs 8.25 crore. Although it was more than a 50 percent decline from Sunday, the film’s total still climbed to an impressive Rs 60.25 crore in just four days. For a romantic drama without heavy action or franchise backing, these numbers place Tere Ishk Mein firmly in the hit category.

Industry voices believe the film’s performance now depends on how well it holds through the weekdays. If collections remain steady, Tere Ishk Mein has the potential to become one of the rare breakout romance hits of 2025. The only major challenge ahead is the upcoming release of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, which arrives this Friday and is projected to open big. Strong reviews for Dhurandhar could split audience attention, but if Tere Ishk Mein maintains its pace, the two films may coexist comfortably.
