Television actor Nitin Chauhaan, recognized for his appearances in popular reality shows such as Crime Patrol and MTV Splitsvilla, was found dead at his residence in Goregaon East on the night of November 6. Authorities have confirmed the incident as a case of suicide.
On the evening of November 6, his wife and daughter had gone to the society garden. Upon their return, they found no response from him inside the apartment.
Unable to get a response, Singh's wife retrieved a spare key from a neighbor and attempted to unlock the door, but it was latched from the inside. She forced the door open, only to discover her husband hanging from the ceiling fan.
She immediately responded by taking him down and administered CPR. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save him. His body was subsequently sent for an autopsy.
On November 7, Dindoshi Police registered an accidental death case following the tragic demise of actor Nitin Kumar Singh. According to the police, Singh had been battling depression due to a lack of professional opportunities.
Nitin gained recognition in the television industry after winning the reality show Dadagiri 2 on Bindass in 2009. He later appeared in popular reality series such as MTV Splitsvilla Season 5, as well as scripted shows like Zindagi Dot Com and Crime Patrol. He was also a part of the television show on SAB TV, Tera Yaar Hoon Main.
He is survived by his wife and a daughter.
