Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift have always been the epitome of best friend goals, and Taylor proved just how close they are at Selena’s wedding to Benny Blanco.

According to multiple reports, the Love Story singer shared her friendship with Taylor with the world on September 27, as Taylor, along with friend Ed Sheeran, gave a speech to toast Selena and Benny on their special day.

The wedding itself was star-studded, with Only Murders in the Building co-stars Martin Short, Steve Martin, Paul Rudd, and Ashley Park in attendance, among other friends.

Selena and Taylor have been close since the late 2000s, a friendship that began when Selena was dating Nick Jonas and Taylor was seeing Joe Jonas.

Reflecting on that time, Selena said in an August 6 appearance on Therapuss, “Everything was cute, we were young. She and I like to say the best thing we got out of those relationships was each other because it was really sweet.”

Selena shared that their friendship helped them navigate the ups and downs of young love. “At that age we became best friends—bonded over the breakup, as girls do,” she said. “And then we just stuck around for all the ups and downs that came after, and here we are now 16 years later.”
