R Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut starrer Tanu Weds Manu brought a storm when it was released back in 2011. The film rewrites the way the industry perceived romance in Bollywood and gives a fresh take. Fans seem to be still crazy about the film even after 14 years.
Director Aanand L Rai took to his Instagram and celebrated the milestone success of the film. The makers of the film shared several clips from the film with the caption that reads, “The kind of love story that keeps you guessing—and keeps you coming back for more! Celebrating #14YearsOfTanuWedsManu.”
Aanand shared another video featuring multiple sequences of the film. He wrote in the caption, “From Kanpur to London, from love to fights, Tanu & Manu taught us that a true love story doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to come from the heart!”
The female-led film, Tanu Weds Manu, was a box office hit and grossed Rs 36.62 crores in India. The sequel of the film, released in 2015, was also a major success and became one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2015 and the highest-grossing female-lead films in India.
Tanu Weds Manu follows the story of an NRI doctor, Manu, played by R Madhavan, who comes to India in search of a bride and falls in love with Tanu, essayed by Kangana Ranaut. However, carefree Tanu doesn't want to marry the man her family chose. Instead, she asks for his help to run away with the man she truly loves.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for Tanu Weds Manu 3 but the makers are yet to greenlit the project. Meanwhile, Madhavan and Kangana will share the screen one more time for an upcoming thriller. Kangana has recently taken to her Instagram Story and shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse from the set of the untitled project. The clapperboard revealed that the film, directed by Vijay and produced by R Ravindran of Trident Arts, began production on January 25.
