Comedian Tanmay Bhat, who is currently making headlines after being summoned by the police in connection with the Samay Raina India's Got Latent controversy, recently announced that his X account had been hacked, cautioning his followers to steer clear of any suspicious links.

In a post shared on social media, he advised his fans about the security breach, urging them to stay cautious.

The compromised account posted a message promoting Solana, a blockchain platform known for its SOL tokens.

The post, which has since been deleted, read: "I love memes and Solana so I figured it was time for me to drop my own coin. Dev supply will be locked momentarily, I will be using YouTube revenue from streams and videos to support the coin and implementing it into my content"

Once Tanmay regained control of his account, he took to Instagram stories to address the situation, informing his followers about the hack. "My Twitter has been hacked. Please don't click on any links. Working to fix it" he wrote, cautioning his audience to stay vigilant.

The fraudulent posts have since been removed from Tanmay's account, and the situation seems to be under control. However, this is not the first time a high-profile social media account has been targeted in such a scam.

Back in 2020, the X accounts of several notable figures, including Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Kanye West, and Kim Kardashian, were also compromised in a high-profile Bitcoin scam that raised concerns about online security.

In Tanmay's case, the breach serves as a reminder of the growing risks celebrities and public figures face in the digital age.

The incident highlights the importance of being cautious with online links and accounts, as hackers continue to exploit social media platforms to promote scams and fraudulent activities. Tanmay’s warning to his followers is a timely reminder to stay alert and report any suspicious content.
