The highly anticipated film Gandhari, starring Taapsee Pannu and Ishwak Singh, has officially wrapped up its shoot. The film, an intense revenge drama, has been written by Kanika Dhillon and directed by Devashish Makhija, who is known for critically acclaimed films like Bhonsle and Joram.
Produced under the banner of Katha Pictures, Gandhari is set to be one of the most physically demanding projects Taapsee has worked on.
Taking to Instagram, Taapsee shared her experience working on the film, calling it a “burnout like never before.” She compared the shooting process to an NOS (nitrous oxide system) mode for the human body, emphasizing the sheer physical and mental toll it took on her. Despite the challenges, she expressed deep satisfaction and pride, highlighting how the bruises from the action sequences brought a sense of fulfillment.
In Gandhari, Taapsee plays a mother who embarks on a relentless mission, performing several raw and intense action sequences. The movie was shot over 50 days in and around Mumbai and Maharashtra, pushing the entire cast and crew to their limits.
This film marks Taapsee’s sixth collaboration with Kanika Dhillon, following their successful projects like Manmarziyaan, Haseen Dillruba, and Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba. Speaking about the project, Kanika described Gandhari as both an enriching and challenging experience, calling it a heroic story that she is extremely proud of.

Taapsee, who is known for her dedication and intensity in her roles, revealed that she felt like a newcomer while shooting for Gandhari. She explained that the film pushed her both physically and mentally, making it one of the most demanding projects of her career.
“We tried to achieve so much against all odds, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the team being fully aligned and driven,” she stated. She also mentioned that completing the film felt like giving it her all, leaving her eagerly waiting for the audience’s response.
With the film now in post-production, Gandhari is set for release in 2025. The film’s gripping narrative, intense action, and emotionally driven storyline are expected to make it a standout entry in Taapsee’s filmography.
Fans and critics alike are eagerly waiting to see how this power-packed drama unfolds, especially with a team as talented as Kanika Dhillon, Devashish Makhija, and Taapsee Pannu driving the project forward.
