Actor Taapsee Pannu has responded to her co-star Kirti Kulhari's claims about feeling sidelined during the promotion of their 2015 film Pink. Pannu, 37, expressed understanding towards Kulhari's feelings, stating that while she wasn’t aware of her co-star's struggles at the time, Kulhari was entitled to feel the way she did.

In an interview with ETimes, Pannu explained that Kulhari never shared her feelings of being overlooked during the promotions, so she was unaware of any tension. "How would I know? She has the full right to feel the way she does. I would be the last person to tell someone what you are feeling is wrong. If someone has felt a certain way, I'm sure there's a reason," Pannu said.

She also emphasised that she would never dismiss anyone’s emotions, adding, "I would have liked to speak to her at that point and ask if there was something I could do to make it better."

Pannu further clarified that, had she known about Kulhari’s feelings, she would have approached her to address the situation. "Unfortunately, I did not know there was an issue at that point. So, I don't know what to do with it. I can't discard her feelings," she stated.

The actress also mentioned the professional relationship she shares with Kulhari, highlighting their work together in Mission Mangal as well.

Earlier, in an interview with Fever FM, Kulhari had expressed her shock at the way the trailer for Pink was presented, which she felt was dominated by Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan. Kulhari shared that she spoke to director Shoojit Sircar about her concerns, to which he reassured her, advising her to focus on the film’s eventual release.

Kulhari also spoke about how the PR campaign for Pink positioned the film primarily as "Taapsee's film," attributing this to the film’s hierarchical structure, which ultimately made Pannu the "Pink girl."
