Actor Suriya recently sustained a minor head injury while shooting for his highly anticipated film with director Karthik Subbaraj, tentatively titled Suriya 44. The incident led to a temporary halt in the production of the Tamil film, which was in its second shooting schedule in Ooty.

When news of Suriya’s injury surfaced on Friday, it sparked concern among his devoted fanbase. Many fans, anxious for updates, speculated about the severity of the injury and questioned why neither the production house nor director Karthik Subbaraj had released an official statement. However, later that evening, producer Rajasekhar Pandian took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the situation and calm fans’ fears. He wrote, “Dear #AnbaanaFans, It was a minor injury. Pls don’t worry, Suriya Anna is perfectly fine with all your love and prayers.”

This reassurance brought relief to Suriya’s fans, who expressed their gratitude and concern in the comments. One fan responded, “Take care my Dear Anna” while another added, “Thank God .. Get well soon Suriya .” A particularly worried fan wrote, “Thanks for clarifying raja anna Get well soon thalaiva ...” Some fans even suggested that director Karthik Subbaraj should consider using a body double for risky scenes in the future, though it remains unclear how the actor sustained the injury.

The buzz around Suriya 44 has been building ever since Suriya released the film’s first-look poster on March 28. The striking poster features a dramatic car crash scene and an arrow piercing a tree, accompanied by the tagline ‘Love Laughter War’. Sharing the poster on X, Suriya wrote, “New beginnings. Need all your good wishes.” On his birthday, Karthik Subbaraj also teased fans with a glimpse of Suriya’s look from the film, further heightening excitement. The film also stars Pooja Hegde in a prominent role.

In addition to Suriya 44, the actor is gearing up for the release of Kanguva, an ambitious fantasy action film directed by Siva. The big-budget project boasts an ensemble cast that includes Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Marimuthu, Deepa Venkat, Ravi Raghavendra, and KS Ravikumar.
