Sunny Deol joins Varun Dhawan and others for Border 2 as filming begins in Jhansi

Sunny Deol has officially become a part of the Border 2 cast, joining Varun Dhawan and other key actors as the film's shoot kicks off in Jhansi.

Varun Dhawan, who had already started filming the highly anticipated sequel in the secluded armed forces cantonment areas of Jhansi, is now joined by the senior actor.

Sunny Deol has officially joined the cast of Border 2 alongside Varun Dhawan and other key members as filming begins in Jhansi.

The film, which is generating considerable excitement, is known for its epic sequences and thrilling action scenes, all being captured in the historic city of Uttar Pradesh.

Varun Dhawan, who had already started filming the highly anticipated sequel in the secluded armed forces cantonment areas of Jhansi, is now joined by the senior actor.

The film's producers recently shared a photo showcasing Sunny Deol posing with Varun Dhawan, producer Bhushan Kumar, Nidhi Dutta, co-producer Shiv Chanana, Binoy Gandhi, and Anurag Singh, all gathered beside an armored vehicle.


The filming for the war drama's Jhansi schedule commenced last month. The production house, T-Series, shared the exciting update, keeping fans in the loop. The post read, "Action, grit, and patriotism! Actor Varun Dhawan begins the #Border2 journey in the scenic cantonment areas of Jhansi with Producers Bhushan Kumar, Nidhi Dutta, Co-producer Shiv Chanana and director Anurag Singh leading the way. January 23, 2026— Get ready for an unforgettable saga!"

In addition to Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan, the film also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Ahaan Shetty, the son of Suniel Shetty. Touted as the "biggest war film," Border 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the 1997 epic directed, produced, and written by JP Dutta, which depicted the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The film is slated to release during the Republic Day weekend next year.
