One such sitcom that ran for a brief time but left an enduring impression on viewers is Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai. Fans still feel nostalgic for the actors, even though the program ended more than 20 years ago, because they still frequently interact with each other.
On Instagram, they even post tidbits about their reunion. Sumeet Raghavan recently talked about his friendship with Rupali Ganguly and how everyone makes fun of her.
In an interview with Pinkvilla recently, Sumeet Raghavan talked about how Sarabhai actors frequently cross paths and have a strong bond. He said, "Even today we pull Rupali's leg even though she is doing Anupamaa."
He remembered that Rupali had just begun Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai after Sanjeevani had ended.
Sumeet emphasised that the director, Atish Kapadia, recognised that Rupali Ganguly had previously performed comedy roles in Sanjeevani, a film in which she was expected to play a serious character, and that was precisely what the producers were seeking. He went on to say that she questioned Aatish's belief that she performed comedy in Sanjeevani.
He remembered that Atish had said to Rupali, "The way you speak is comedy."
Sumeet said, "Even today we pull her leg saying that you do good comedy in Anupamaa."
"Basically, Rupali is our punching bag," the actor continued. We all continue to strike her. She's a sport, though. She's adorable. She still says jovially, “I will leave the house and go.”
For those who don't know, Rupali portrayed his on-screen wife, Monisha, while Sumeet played Sahil in Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai.
The iconic Indian sitcom Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai is renowned for its social criticism, smart humor, and astute scripting. It chronicles the many arguments between the affluent, high-society Sarabhai family and their middle-class daughter-in-law, Monisha, in South Mumbai. During its initial run from 2004 to 2006, the show developed a sizable cult following.
Sumeet was last seen in Wagle Ki Duniya. Right now, Rupali stars in Anupamaa.
