Suhana Khan shares emotional note for dad as SRK wins National Award

It was a moment of immense pride for Shah Rukh Khan and his family as the superstar finally received his first-ever National Film Award for Jawan at the 71st National Film Awards.

While the applause inside the hall echoed his cinematic legacy, it was the heartfelt words of his daughter, Suhana Khan, that truly touched hearts across the world.

Sharing photographs of her father looking dashing in a black bandhgala, with his medal and rosette pinned proudly, Suhana and Aryan poured her emotions into a note on Instagram. “You always said you never win the silver, only lose the gold but This Silver is Gold… Our hearts are so happy seeing you receive the prestigious National Award, Congratulations papa we love you.”

The post quickly became a space for joy and love. Shanaya Kapoor called him “The best!!!” while actor Rajat Bedi added, “Heartiest congratulations So so proud of you all.”

Fans too flooded the comments, hailing him once again as the “King,” a title he has carried gracefully for decades.

It wasn’t just Suhana who shared her pride. Gauri Khan also marked the moment with an emotional tribute to her husband. Posting another picture of him, she wrote: “What a journey it’s been @iamsrk. Congratulations on winning the National Award!!! So deserving… it’s a result of your years of hard work and dedication. Now I’m designing a special mantle for this award.”

This year, Shah Rukh shared the Best Actor award with Vikrant Massey for his powerful performance in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail, while Rani Mukerji took home the Best Actress award for Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. In keeping with tradition, both Best Actor winners received their own medals and certificates, though the prize money was split equally.
