Stephen Colbert jokes about Netflix and Amazon offers

Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show was recently cancelled, and the television host seems to already have another gig. He has also suggested that he is looking for offers from the other networks.

During the final Late Show taping, he cited a Daily Beast story about Vice President JD Vance ordering and even wearing his mask. Stephen Colbert said, "This is such an insane, spoiled-baby emperor move that I have no choice but to break out my new character: Wittle Pwince Vance."

He continued, “Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye! I want my wish granted for my birthday! Also, I don’t like how blue the sky is — paint it wed! Now, give me a juice box. Not fruit juice — apple! Kill him! Kill him!”

However, the host then joked that he is open to the offers from Netflix. He said, “Netflix, call me. I’m available in June.” He also teased, "I will also entertain offers from Amazon."

For those who are unaware, Colbert referenced the settlement during his July 14 monologue, playfully referring to it as "a big, fat bribe" and then commenting, "Guessing on this, but $16 million would do the trick."

He also quipped that Paramount could have easily defended the case because they themselves had stated the lawsuit was "completely without merit." Then he kidded, "Remember, Paramount produced Transformers: Rise of the Beast. They know what 'completely without merit' is."

Last month, CBS confirmed that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will end in May 2026. The network claimed it was a "financial decision" due to the faltering TV market, although some think there are other reasons as well.
